Cold Snap – This is not just Europe.

NASA has just released a series of picture showing the extent of the cold snap in the northern hemisphere. The following image shows the winter temperatures and the Arctic Oscillation. This was temperature acquired on December 1^st. Hopefully NASA will release a new series of picture for the cold snap in January!

The following one was published few days ago and shows the UK under heavy snow. Snow blanketed Great Britain on January 7, 2010, as the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite passed overhead and captured this image. Snow covers most of England, from the east to the west coast.

Bristol to Timbuktu

Today a light hearted post on a new road sign in Bristol (UK) that has recently made the local news, and declared a bit of debat in the local press, (BBC Article). The sign indicates the direction to Timbuktu, quite a distance from the UK! Should the sign be removed or stay? Any feedback?

Browsing the net, I actually found that oher blog with a reference to a fairly recent piece by Banksy in Timbuktu.

Anyway, this sign remind me a previous visite made to zagorra in the southern part of Morocco. The following link will take you to a short selection of images from the region, enjoy!
